Did you use the low level connection on the head unit in one of the smaller plugs, which head unit do you have an what year.03z4 said:Threw a spare 12" kenwood sub in the trunk and wired it to my sub channel off the amp. Had to run a separate rca off the back of the head unit, under the steering column, under the front carpet, up through the rear trunk wiring port. Once that was done the sub was easy : )
Certainly completes the system sound...I love it.
mrjmt said:superiormirage, I just completed a similar install (stock speakers with aftermarket amp and HU). I struggled to find 3 way passive crossovers, settled for the only ones I could find, the Phonocar ones on ebay from caraudiodirect.
The build quality of them seems good, they're certainly weighty. Sounds fine to me too although I never got to hear the system with the original DSP HU / amp.

Scaramanga said:Tell me about it. I spent (read: wasted money) trying to improve the carvers. Now buying some kenwood subs to replace the stock carvers, just like in my E46. Annoyed I didn't trust my own judgement and do this in the first place.
