Anyone used the latest Carsoft 8.4? It's on offer on their site for E200 now, which is a big drop from before. It also seems to have a truck load more functionality and coding capabilities Vs previous editions

Used previous 6.x and while it has some good functions (managed to track down a faulty park sensor in seconds on my X5) it's not very good on Zeds

As an alternave anyone tried the BMW GT1 set ups that seem to be appearing on ebay all the time. Latest are hd alone and indicate they don't need a specific laptop to run on.

As far as i know, GT1 is mainly a front end to NCS Expert and Ediabas with other stuff thrown in. These two can do basically everything, however for some reason mine cannot read the Mk60 DSC (ABS/DSC) Control Module when i know it has errors (Bmw Scanner Demo says so).

You can get virtual machine images of GT1 however, i may have a look into one and try to find out how good it is :)

Have you got carsoft software then? Can you disable airbag occupancy seat mats with it? And can you turn the passenger airbag off with it?

My mates got GT1, which is great, but it always says not enough battery when trying to change program options for some reason. On all cars that is.

Carsoft 6. doesn't programme anything. According to the web 8.4 does the lot which is why I'm interested in references to confirm if it's worth buying.
Chris - do oyu have a battery charger on or engine running as iirc they detect lower than 14 ish volts and don't work for risk of failing part way through

Need to understand better about the GT1 option and if it can be made to be a practical tool
