Something to add to my list next time I'm in that part of the engine bay. Has to be worth pulling it out to see if there is evidence of clogging up, but not something I'd worry about.
Consequences look expensive, but I guess if they sell 11 per day (assuming that to be a good figure) and the part covers pretty much all the cars from 3, 5, 7, Z3, Z4, X3, X5 then it can't be a common fault, given the mileage some of those will have achieved.
