Carpeted battery cover question

Hey

So I bought the 3 self tapping screws from BMW as all were missing from my car, but for some reason the bottom one doesn't screw/go into anything, which makes me wonder is there something missing from behind inside, the battery area? I have attached some pictures for comparison:

What do you think??

I bet your missing the little clips the tappers go into, part no. 46637684304.

Number 23 goes into 26. http://www.penskeparts.com/DiagramsRight.aspx?rnd=03254265&menu=&vid=49424&Diagram=51_4961

You should have another clip on the bottom, like in the picture of mine below.

If these self tappers are the plastic ones, you might need what I think is part 5 on this LINK

I found one of mine had dropped down and a little judicious exploration behind the carpets found it.

No M5 is right, should be part 20 on the link I put up, you may also require on off the clips I put up on my first answer.

51473427003 refers.

Guys thanks a lot for your responses :)

However, I'm still just ever so slightly confused :scratchhead: Looking at this:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=DU92&mospid=49422&btnr=51_6101&hg=51&fg=65 - This link is for the M as opposed to the 3.0i...

It suggests I need 3 x Part 11 which I've got but as said bottom one doesn't plug into anything. So it maybe seems to suggest I need 2 x Part 5 and 2 x Part 9 comparing my picture with M5's?! Can't work out why I need 2 of each though and not one? Does that make any sense?

Cheers for your help guys

My post above gives you the part to buy, also buy 2x number 9 just in case.

You don't need number 5.

good luck, i asked parts dept for 1" dia plastic blanking plate from side of centre consul, expected to peay a few pence plus mad bmw surcharge, so at most a couple of quid but nearly fell off my chair when he said ,it was 9 quid with the vat. :headbang:
