Hi, sorry fir asking this as I’m sure it’s on one threads on the forum already!

I have a beautiful 2007 3.0 coupe. I’ve heard of Carly? I’m just wondering what I can unlock with it and is it actually a good?

Any advice would be appreciated 👍
 
Same here, with a '07 E86 as well. Searched a bit and found out that Carly has an annual fee which put me off.
In search of sth better..

I purchased the Carly set of connectors/ dongle for my 3.0 Z4, and only ended up using it once to read diagnostics on my father's E46 3 series. Doom is correct, there is an annual fee but it is easy to use and compatible with smart phone app so no need to get a laptop. I was going to put it up for sale, if you are interested you could have it for a reasonable price!

Hi, so are you saying you don’t need a subscription?

From what I understand it unlocks certain features? Do you know if this is correct?
 
I don't think it used to need a subscription, but it does now.

I'm sure it used to be a one off payment when I bought it a couple of years ago but now it does say annual subscription on their web site which seems very expensive now. :(
 
There is an incredible device for VAG (VW, Audi, etc) products called OBDeleven - same concept as Carly, but FAR better execution, and it doesn't have this stupid "subscription" model that Carly has gone too. They are just about to come out with v2 of the device and they say that it wills support "other brands" in the future - so I'm optimistic that they might be working on BMW support.

EDIT: YES! BMW support is coming!

This is great news and is going to give Carly fits. I'll be all over this as soon as it's available. Much experience with the v1 device for VAG and it's spectacular.
 
If you use android then you could take a look at bimmer geeks pro.

I stumbled across it at the weekend. Looks interesting, one off cost I think.
