Carly Support Response

I finally decided to get a Carly adapter and full app.

All works well apart from the live parameters; that section is giving zero information when I ask it to go live.

I contacted Carly Support about it and they came back with the strangest response. Does their reply make sense to anyone? My car is on its original factory engine.

I found their tech support lightning quick to respond ans willing to get to the bottom of any issue.
Theyre a german outfit and not a huge organisation i think, so you could actually be dealing with the software developers themselves.

Looks like youve had an engine transplant tho according to their response.., :lol:

Uninstall, reinstall and try it again.

Turn off all Anti Virus if there's anything like that on the phone.

Try another cable if you have one or can get hold of one.

Might be someone close to you that can help.

I’ll try and un-install tomorrow. It’s the WiFi adapter so I can’t change any cables unfortunately.

Has anyone else with Carly got the live stuff to work?

I think what they mean is that your car is running n52 engine which was also used in e60s and e90s. doubt there's any issue with the app. On my coupe it has never worked, not that I use the live data.

As its reading alot of live data try reducing the con method from fast connection to normal. I had to do that on my e92.

If someone had changed the engine couldn’t they have just sent off the logbook so it showed the new number?

I got the live parameters working...after a lot of faffing around. Helped with diagnosing an over-heating issue tho.
Torque Pro app works better for live parameters however.

played around with the reporting frequencies and connection speeds.
can't remember optimum setings unfortunately and in any case i was using it via iOS. it's prob a totally different kettle of faffing with android.
check out the Torque app tho. it's tiptop

I've never managed to get the Parameters working on my N52 engine either... had several emails with Torsten from the Carly team and was promised it would start working in a later update but still nothing and that was months ago so have given up all hope!

I'll have a play with the settings and see if i can get it working on my iOS!

Does the Torque app show parameters for the N52 engine then? May give that a go if I still can't get Carly to work!

I am dealing with Torsten also don’t hold out much hope of a solution from them this side of 2030

Just tried messing with all the parameters, reinstalled the app etc; went in via the OBD parameters.

The only thing that showed any reading was an air intake temperature of -40C. I’m thinking maybe that wasn’t wholly accurate :roll:

Yes I messed with all the settings that I could. Changed them one at a time, all at the same time etc etc. No real difference unfortunately.
