Hi
Just purchased a well used 2010 35is 95k first BMW needs a little pampering.
Already have a Carista OBD2 plug and a AUTOPHIX 7910 which I did code a new battery but don't think either will code so remote closes roof don't want to buy another just for the one task.
Two back operations so will help me getting in and out without a few swear words.
So was wondering if there was a forum member locally who would be willing to assist?
Will post an introduction in new members when I have a few minutes,

Mark

Hi, unless your car was specced with comfort access (which is rare) the roof won’t close via the remote - you need an aftermarket module like the smarttop to do that

In the meantime, are you aware that if you double click the unlock button on the key fob, then when you open the door the window will drop halfway. It is surprising just how much extra room this gives, particularly in tighter spaces.

So, if you do manage to get it working without comfort access, please let us know how 👍

I'm virtually 100% certain there is no option within Carly to code the roof to close on the key no matter what spec you have :driving:

I don't think that they would have sold the Smarttop modules if there had been a hack
I also needed a fob/roof down option for the similar reasons as royalmike and was ultimately forced dow the Smarttop route.

Not quite what i meant, i was meaning with the Comfort Access pack and not being able to code it with only Carly.

If you have comfort access (i do) it closes on the fob without coding - and there is no coding for using the fob to close the roof without the comfort access option.
I explained this to OP in my PM but also mentioned that many other very useful options can be coded depending oncar spec. I am pretty sure Mike and I will meet up some time soon and see what we can do..

It's a pity the key fob boot release couldn't be reconfigured to in effect operate the roof close button.
Might need some hard wiring mod.

Thanks for the input will live for it for a few weeks see if can perfect getting in and without looking like a chump may well get a smart top module

It does make it simple when you have access problems.

On my E85, I have found that if you want to close the roof, while standing next to the car, you can do it by putting the key in the drivers door lock, and hold it in the locked position.
You all probably knew this already!!
