Carly Issues??

Hi All, I've recently Bought the Bluetooth adapter from Carly for android and the Full Version, It reads the fault codes, but doesnt appear to show any airbag faults (I have Airbag lt on permantly) And in the coding section, it says no modules available for coding?? Says same on my e46 330ci (2001) and My Z4 2.2 (2005)
Am i doing something wrong? Seems a pointless buy if i cant do any of the bits i bought it to do  Any help very much appreciated

Have you cleared the fault codes so that you get a fresh reading as some error codes might be old?

Yeah that's the odd thing, Carly shows 2 faults only.... A Lambda sensor heater and a radiator out temp sensor....But neither will clear, always come staright back without even starting car again! And doesnt show any airbag faults at all V Odd. :headbang:

Is your car compatible with the bluetooth adapter? My 2004 2.5 M54 only works fully with the cable adapter. Just checking...

Oh hadn't thought of that?? It reads the codes fine, but wont clear any. Whole point of buying was to use the app and phone So yours doesnt work with bluetooth OBD connector at all?

Looking at the Carly website, it looks like the latest bluetooth adapter works on all models but when I bought mine a few years ago they said my car would only work with the cable adapter. I have a non Carly bluetooth OBD adapter that connects but only does basic functions. I would ask Carly support for clarification.
Does it work OK on your E46?

It does Basic functions on both cars but wont code or do the other functions so perhaps your spot on! Will email them to chase, thanks for help and advice very much appreciated.

Another thought. Have you got the full version installed properly? I guess the free version has only basic functions. My front screen looks like this.

Check on the Carly thread to see if there's anyone close to you that can try their version of Carly / Bluetooth / Cable.

Hi, yes I think so my home screen looks the same as your screen shot, when i go onto coding for example, it scans and says no compatible modules found! Have tried with ignition on and with car running as it says on App. Have emailed Carly, I did see it says on their web BMW cars from 2004 on and NO E46! So that will explain the e46! But I'd hoped would do more on my 2005 Z4!! Thanks for looking, very much appreciated.

Think its a connectivity issue... take a look at this page on my thread... other people having issues too. So I *think* you may need an adapter

If your car is 2004, then you will also need the Carly Adapter (Additional Plug) - I needed it for my 2003 model, and I'm pretty sure it's needed for the 2004 model too

(I can't give you the amazon link because it's no longer available from that seller - but just search for it, I'm sure you'll find it)

You did turn the Bluetooth on both on the phone and the adapter, let the phone pair with the adapter then open Carly?

There's a button on the adapter and it'll light up when it's on.

That's ace saw those on their website, just ordered one off Ebay for £16 so will report back if works , thanks all for input and advice.
Yes had it paired with my phone, and switched on , just not very clear on Carly website what's needed!
Fingers crossed.

They told me I had to buy the adapter for it to work on my 2003, does work, coding is pretty simple, diagnostic works well, cleared all my faults I didn't know I had, Still have the issue of no airbag fault code but the light is still on. Hope you get it working.

Thanks Mazza, I've ordered the adapter so will try when it arrives. I have airbag lt also, and wont clear or register any faults on my Sealey code reader or the Carly so far!!

So as a conclusion to this I purchased the adapter direct from Carly, and it now works a treat on both cars! Just coded out the rear lights on E46 to stop voltage check with my genuine LED rear upgrade! So I needed the adapter and the Carly Bluetooth gen2 plus the App. But now it's doing what I bought it for
