Care when cleaning inside of windscreen

Cleaning the Z last week, thought I'll clean the inside of the windscreen.

So I stumbled into the seat in my normal fashion, proceeded with damp leather to clean the inside of the windscreen as I've done for many a year on many a car. Managed to knock the mirror (with some vigour) and guess what........

Screen cracked  :headbang: :headbang: drrrrrrrrrr

Original BMW screen, it did have three sizeable wacks on it already in a separate area but new screen coming on Monday. Genuine BMW item as I have a very understanding insurance company who originally suggested non BMW replacement screen but they listened to my request suggesting like for like was in order to guarantee structural performance. Small print was against me but they agreed and have charged windscreen excess only.

Summary; take care with cleaning inside of screen and use Aviva car insurance - good people in my eyes

Blimey, the mirror must be held on with some super-strong stuff then!

I've knocked a couple of interior mirrors off previous cars when cleaning the interior but just superglued them back on!
