Carbon wrap interior trim

After doing it on a couple of my previous cars, I'm now a bit of a dab hand at carbon wrapping :D

So thought I'd possibly try it on the Z4. How easy is it to remove the silver trim in the centre? I removed the handbrake gaiter but couldn't see any way to remove the trim. Does it simply prise off?

I'm interested in doing the same at some point, although likely some brushed aluminium dynoc rather than carbon.

Are you looking to wrap the dash panel as well?

You have to remove the centre console, the trim is bolted to it from underneath. There are threads on here with pics to show you.

Yeah, the dash panel will be dead easy to do. Don't forget the door handles inside too

Never seen that 3M di-noc wrap before. I quite like it 8)

My interior is all black so I fear that wrapping the last pieces of silver in black carbon will be like driving around in a lump of coal!

Here's from when I did it. Towards the end of the thread are links to some of the threads that explain how to remove it.

It's a long process to remove that piece. It's held on with about 30 torx screws and you need to take the whole centre console out to access them.

Enjoy.

When in a crash the one bit remaining in place will bit that centre bit! Daft amount of screws!!

Carbon wrapped all mine. Love it.

Yep sorry for the bad news but it's an absolute bitch to remove that trim piece. It took me about 2 hours to get the centre console out, and as said you then have to remove a ridiculous amount of torx screws underneath.

It's really not that bad.... Do a 6th gen Honda Civic! That's time consuming!

I've done my Z4 a while ago.... takes 30mins to remove the console....and an additional 5 mins to remove the trim from the console!
(First attempt took me about an hour)

I've done it a few times....

Hmm, OK thanks. I may attempt it some time then.

And yes the inside is a bit grubby, I've just not got round to giving it a good clean yet. It'll take a few hours but I'm more worried about the little niggles it has and the colossal swirling all over the bodywork at the moment which is being detailed in a couple of weeks time.
