Carbon Mirror Caps Yes or No

My last two 1 Series I had the BMWP carbon mirror caps albeit the replacement shells.

I have see these on fleabay but are the stick on types,

A guy on Zpost has these fitted and they don't look too bad,

Can't make my mind up on them :? i.e. will they be a crappy fit and tacky? I would prefer replacement covers if BMW made them :(

they look best on a white car, ok on silver but are a bit pricey considering they are just stick on

personal choice i guess

I like

Be perfect if you could get roll-hoop backs to match...

Thanks for the replies, the ones on e-bay are relatively cheap for real carbon fibre, the BMWP mirror replacements for the 1 Series were over £400 if I recall correctly. The diffuser I had was £1200 but looked the dogs danglies with the BMWP exhaust :)

Afraid I'm just not keen on the film as dislike the matt finish, just prefer the real deal :)

They look ok. Would you do them in isolation or add some other carbon around the car somewhere?

Hmmmmm I did say to myself no mods for the Z4 :headbang:

Would like a carbon diffuser but not much out there except from the far east. At the mo just thinking of the mirrors.

If your going to do it, I think it has to be part of a theme, diffuser, splitter etcetera for it to work

Absolutely agree . However, the mirror cover is added on to the mirror, so it doesn't really meet the weight reduction purpose.

I read a magazine about OEM carbon sideblades on Audi R8. A pair is £4.6k plus fitting, but they look so nice on a Daytona Grey R8.

Yeah it does kinda defeat the idea of weight saving sticking them over the existing mirrors

Decided to pass on them, would prefer the proper case replacements that BMW do for the 1 and 3 Series.
