Carbon fibre kidney grills on your M

Does anyone have carbon fibre kidneys fitted to their M? I've seen photos of black ones installed but never carbon and would love to see how they look...

ZermattV has fitted to his M

Countless members have fitted them to the non M specific Z4s.

I installed these last year....

Woots, your "shiny" disease is worse than mine! :D

Yes, and I swore I wouldn't succumb to it again....

Shiny moment over...

Unless my car gets nothing for Xmas

Are grills interchangeable between models? I thought grills were M specific  not sure why I thought that....

Here are mine:

Your Imola looks beautiful I must say! Where did you get full carbon ones may I ask? I've only ever seen the ones above which have the carbon outer but with black slats (which is what I have on my 1er too)

those must be dipped, or print effect as the CF ones do not CF the inners, its too hard!
Mine are the real CF, 2x2 weave, laminated to the OEM outers. looks amazing. The CF really shines silvery grey in the light and is the way you can tell the fakes from the real thing. Car is for sale so yes, i would part with these.. cost would be £140. And i would need your old ones.
(They are £156 at Mstyle and theirs are crap + you will wait for ever and that price will about £50 more expensive when you call them)

PM me if you want these bad boys.

I hear what you're saying Mark and I've seen your work which looks fantastic. There are quite a few things id like you to do in CF when I get my car. Looking at that second photo however, those grills definitely look like they have real CF inners...

Hmmm. i would bet they are a dip job.
The detail just isn't there. Would be interesting to hear where Dalecan got those from.

Compare with mine and there is quite a difference, colour, detail, the way the cf material wraps around the curve, etc.

That said, its a great cheap alternative to the real thing, and looks cool. only the trained eye would spot them.

dalecan's look like the same construction as my matte black ones - they have a front and a back, as opposed to the OEM ones that have inner & outer pieces. You can tell because on the imola shots you'll see a line down the slats, clearer on the right hand side of the middle photo... And no line on Mark's. It's the only thing that annoys me about aftermarket, but you can't see it from a few feet away. So I reckon dalecan's may well be real cf fronts, but the backs are matte black. WLH's are the best aftermarket ones I gave seen close ups of, as they look OEM... They were pricey though IIRC.

Guys you're correct, mine aren't real. That said you really can't tell the difference unless you get up close and personal. I got them off fleabay, from ukstylings (a Hong Kong based company), for $75. They are one piece and a great light fit. I think they're a very cheap alternative.
