Carbon Fiber Engine Cover?

With the installation of the DINAN Aluminum Tower Strut and Stage 2 Supplemental Strut Bars, I had noticed that the OEM plastic engine covers with the longitudinal silver bars no longer seemed to visually appear fitting within the engine bay. In my opinion, these painted lines appear too busy while intersecting the strut bars. I do really like the aluminum finish on the DINAN Strut bars, but think the thin silver lines have to go….

Therefore, I was contemplating to aesthetically trim up engine bay a little bit, and to not go too much with the carbon fiber and/ or silver lines. I was just curious, has anyone installed carbon fiber engine & fuel rail covers? If so, please post pictures. Also, the other alternative I had in mind was to remove the plastic OEM engine covers and strip and/ or re-paint the silver bars all black, and to just leave the “BMW” silver letters untouched.

Your opinions will be greatly appreciated, should I go Carbon Fiber, do a re-finish, or neither?

I think you are correct, as to the engine cover making it look busy with the silver lines. If you use the carbon fiber cover then that will lead to the raditor cover, then the valve covers. Let me save you some time and money.

I'll take the strut bars.

You decided to get the secondarys. Good choice in my opinion.

anyone know where to get one for the M engines?

I found a few but they looked cheap, Id be looking for an exact replica of the OEM cover with the M badge sunken not just "stuck on top" like the ones Ive seen

Cool.....I can't wait to see your pics...

At this time, I had found a manufacturer "CARBONIO", located somewhere out in Ontario Canada. They also have a US Distributor down here in Southern California, and I hope that they will have these pieces in stock...

JMO - but I think the wrinkle finish looks great
I don't think CF is an improvement for the S54
