Carbon airbox?

I have a Z4 M Coupe :D , and looking to put a carbon airbox (CSL style/type) on the car. Has anybody done this and got any recommendations of where to get one from?

I have seen these online -

Any one used them?

I have experience of bmwm3shop.de and know of many others who have delt with them - all with good comments to make. . Take a look at the carbon airbox for the BMW E30 M3 (S14). I`ve seen these carbon boxes in the flesh and the quality is indeed very good - I even bought one for an E30 M3 although I never got to fit it so sold it on. The sound from a carbon box is very nice.

I would try contacting them and asking them about a part for the Z4. I think if they see a decent future demand they would knock something up for the Z4 ///M and maybe even the 3.0 (assuming it is different than the ///M one). Im sure a group buy with them could be a possibility also because they would need to make an investment up front to get the tooling or casings made so they would be more likely to do it if x number of buyers had already paid.

I fancy a carbon airbox too and can't see past the GuppeM product. It's seriously expensive but boy is it a beautiful bit of kit.

Try these :

Simota carbon intake, a bit of a Gruppe M replica. Cheaper than those I've seen sold in the UK though.

Is there one of these available that uses a non-oiled filter? Or is there a replacement filter you can get which does away with the cleaning & oiling.

Or does anyone know where Sixspeed lives, and when he's going on holiday

The back of the heat shield comes away and you can remove the filter element, just a case of finding the correct size. I've got a pic of what was in the box (dismantled), I'll see if I can post it up.

Do oiled sensors affect the MAF sensor on the z4 or do just want a dry filter for ease of mantainance?

Don't know and don't want to find out, so I'll stick to a non-oiled one if possible - especially after hearing some of those M3s and CSLs at Oulton Park today, you can easily tell which have the intake and which don't.
