car won't start

Last 2 mornings the car has struggled to start. And now won't start at all even with jump leads connected. All the lights seem to work ok?

Nope nothing

Try a hammer on the starter motor, I get that sometimes with the Golf and it seems like the solenoid is jammed.

Could just be that the starter motor is just gone.

Can't really bump it as it's parked on my street.

Starter went on my old roady. Same symptoms. Have you recently changed the battery, it wasn't long after I changed my battery that the starter died.

As pvr says. Hit with hammer may get a few more starts out of it. But longer term you'll need a new one. They're about £120 from Euro Car Parts
