Car won't start - Transmission position P faulty.

Audi are speaking directly with BMW now, so that is good. On the face of it Audi look like they are trying to come up with a solution. In their latest email they have mentioned buy back again. So, we wait and see. I will post updates on here if people are interested but I don't really want to see - 'you should have got a different version' or checked the history of the vehicle a bit more etc. It don't really help. :-)

If they buy it back from me I dont know what I will do with regards another car.

I think it's a good sign that Audi have already mentioned buy back without you having to fight for it. If they do that then you are free to decide what to get next and you won't have a car which has had so many issues and you don't know what else could go wrong with it next.

That was me joking. Anyway, I have had a Porsche before. 944 Turbo. That broke as well.

Out of the frying pan into the fire :fuelfire:

If you still like the Z4 after all that hassle then the best way to get into ownership is to let the forum know you've got money to spend and want a car and sit back and wait until someone decides to sell.
I mean this in a kind way so hold the pitchforks, this forum has the added benefit of being mainly old codgers who are anal about maintenance and drive accordingly. Any car you buy from a regular here is going to be a good puchase.

Game over..... Audi are going to give me my money back. Full refund. I supose it is fair play to Audi for that. There was a post on here about how long people kept their Z4. For me 6 weeks. I'm not sure what I will do as regards another car.

You were very unfortunate to have such bad luck, but it was a good job in that sense it was an audi main dealer, I hate to imagine the issues with either a private sale or your typical small garage..

I suspect we won't be seeing you again..best wishes with whatever you choose next..

So that's a result I suppose - right up to the point where it sounds like you're leaving us. Breakfast is on the 25th Jan just in case you get another!

See if you can cadge a ride in another Z4 to see if you could fall i love with one. They are good cars really, you picked a bad one :)
Good news on the refund though

I'll second that. You got that car cos you liked the look/idea of it. Don't let one bad apple put you off.
I understand your other half may have a significant input, but maybe look at another? E85, or smaller engined E89 perhaps?
Then you can stay with the cars you like but convince 'management' that it's more budget friendly.
From what you said, she wasn't impressed with the performance of that one. Get a smaller one and drive like Miss Daisy when you take her out in it.
Don't just walk away Steve.

I don't think I could buy any other variant as that was the one I wanted. It wouldn't feel right if I got a different version. But, I am undecided at this point. I need the whole thing resolved and the money in my bank account before I think of anything else.

Oh, and I liked the colour as well. :-)

Yeah, another vote here for the cheaper to run option of the 2.0i turbo zed (maybe with an Apollo13 remap) :P

I might still attend even though my Z will have gone. It might re-kindle some enthusiasm as I haven't decided what I am going to do as yet. I will still have the cash burning a hole.....
