Car won’t start - not battery [Sorted -nothing to see here!]

I’ve a 2.2L 2004 that’s had lots of work done to save it from broken for parts. All done with an MOT now and ready to sell. Was booked in with Mike at The Zed She’d for a steering angle sensor swop and the car didn’t start. Did the usual battery charge but still did the same even after the battery was fully charged. Even put my 3.0L Z4 battery in there which I know is working fine and that was exactly.

Lights in the dash came on then when moving the key to start the car, lights on the dash go off and nothing.

Any pointers/help appreciated.

Any noises at all from the engine bay?
If not, sounds like the starter motor to me.

Try giving it a whack which may temporarily cure it, but you'll need a new one soon.
Easy enough to change though.
