Car tax renewal

Seems like vehicle tax is not affected by COVID
Mine has gone up to 330 :o

Considering we’re all using our cars less you would think car tax would be reduced.

Should all go on fuel to be honest, the more you drive the more you pay!

Mine was also £330, but I'm sure that was the price it was last year aswell, so no increase as far as I can remember.

What do you expect? It's a big old polluting engine, hardly efficient compared to today's small capacity turbos.

I think I've paid £6k in 12 year in VED - works out about 4p per mile

Fuel works out about 22p per mile

Nurburgring works out at £2.00/mile just for the lap ticket.

Was £325 last year.

Considering the mpg, performance and looks it ain’t that bad. Thankfully I don’t have to pay the ///M tax :poke:

Ah OK, cheers, couldn't remember the figure but knew it was similar.

It's the 1.0 ecoboost ford drivers you should feel sorry for. Some of them are £30 a year ved, but the newer ones (same car and engine) are now £140. Thats where this system just doesn't work. Better off scrapping it and chucking it on fuel instead.

I think mine was approx £200 last year, considering the mpg, performance and looks it ain’t that bad, thankfully i don’t have to pay the si tax :poke:
Everything’s relative

I think I may have to rethink my car plan!

I paid £570 for my M in January and it's only done about 1,200 miles since. :o

Then I paid £330 in April for my 330i and that's done less than 400 miles since.

Either that or hope there will be more venues able to hold events soon!

Think of all the money you’ve saved on petrol! Every cloud & all that :P

Think of the mega-bucks you’ve saved in depreciation though

True, but I haven't had much fun. :(

And I doubt I've saved any depreciation on my 15 year old 3 Series!

But oddly meets the TfL ULEZ requirements with CO2 emission of 201-225, whereas my 2.4l Volvo D5 - CO2<120, annual road tax £30 doesn't. I guess it's not as sooty!

The 2 don't seem to be based on the same things - even my M that emits 292g is ULEZ compliant.
