I use the zed probably once a month which means every time I take it out it cost me £23.33

Thats where it's all wrong. You use your car 10 x more than him yet he pays almost double what you pay! Its a joke tbh

nope the tax on beer is at the pump, same as on petrol, car tax you pay up front, that the equivalent of paying before you even enter the pub
