Car stuck in TRANSPORT mode.

Evening all - hope you are all safe and well.

My 2005 model 2.2 is showing transport mode so I need to find someone in the London / Kent borders area that would be able to scan it out for me.

Does anyone know of / have a suggestion who could be able to do this.

Thanking you all in advance.

Hi - thanks for responding.

I had a new battery and starter motor fitted and when the battery was eventually connected after several hours off the car my radio displays the words DISABLED.
I spoke to the main dealer parts guy who said that the car had going into TRANSPORT mode and I would need to get it cleared down. My local garage did not have the software to do that, so stuck without a stereo. Nothing major but a pain when I actually have some time at the moment to drive it. Did something like 400 miles last year and it was then garaged.
Heater blower, a/c, all work, just the radio.

Thanks again
Barry

That sounds more like a code for the radio than transport? Didn't think it would disable that and nothing else. Wouldn't seem much point.

Transport mode.

I'm Sure ETA Motorsport in Kent will do this for you, I'd do it if you were local.

I had hoped it was simple like a code but the early models did not need a code. Only later ones required them. Or so I have been told by BMW.

Thank you Adam, I shall google and see where they are, although if it stayed dry a run up to Bedford would not be that bad. cannot remember the last time I drove further than 50 miles in her.

Doesn’t sound like transport mode to me. You definitely loose air con and the blower on the higher speeds with transport mode.

I would try disconnecting the battery for 5 mins then reconnecting to see if that helps as a first stab.

So I disconnected the battery and left her for 10 mins, then reconnected only to have the same problem. Getting a little lost for answers now.

Maybe 'DISABLED' is a new radio station.
Have you tried re-tuning it? :exitright:

Yes I tried that and all I can find on FM was a station called "About to be launched down the road FM", a cross between Smooth and Planet Rock :D

Reminded me of when a new member of staff stated working in my team in Payroll.

I ran a report for checking and auditing before sending the wages file for payment.

About an hour afterwards once she’d checked it she came to me and said it looks ok apart from XY&Z.

She then also said to me “I didn’t realise we wad so many ‘disabled’ people working for us”

My blank look was obviously very apparent by the look on her face and then I asked her what on earth she was talking about.

She then pointed to the report where there was a batch of entries that had INVALID CODE beside them.

I had to, with a straight face, point out that identified a punching error by the data entry person and not that the person was an Invalid ♿

It was honestly one of the quickest I’ve ever seen anyone blush in my life

Yep, such a thin line between stupid and clever. My son was asking me about "vin all". Ten mins later I worked out he meant "vinyl" :D

Vin all, Brilliant

My, university educated, daughter has been known to make equally dubious statements like your son. At least they keep us entertained

Basically the Ibus system has frozen due to the battery dying. the way to sort it out is you need someone to hook up a laptop with software that can talk to the radio, once you talk to it it should remove the diabled sign. Not sure Navcoder software might be able to trigger waking it up as that speaks to the radio.

Thank you mac27040. Been so fed up with it that it has sat on the drive..

Really? Just for having no radio?
Get out in it, enjoy the drive and sing loudly. :D

No, just the frustration of taking it to places and having a different answer - just want it fixed
