Maybe I’m getting emotional in my old age, but every time I watch this, I seem to get a lump in my throat. Saw one from 2017 today with an Elise S1 and a lady with cancer, and nearly lost it.

Not sure if it’s the underlying stories, or the cars… :|

Same with that episode, lovely to see it get finished / driven again.
 
I saw that episode first time around - great to see the car back on the road and I always feel a lump when I watch one of these, they are trying to make peoples lives a little better
 
I remember watching that episode a while ago.

IIRC she took the finished car to visit her dad who was in hospital but sadly they both passed away.

The other one that sticks in my mind was when they did a Lancia Delta Integrale and the owner passed away before the car was finished.

Maybe as we get older we don't feel immortal anymore, but it's great that they take on projects for deserving people that would otherwise never get done!
 
Great show.
The problems these car owners struggle with are real.
Sometimes they don't even realise, or at least have accepted it that they're long past the point that they could ever do the restauration themselves, they're still that involved with their car despite the sorry state.
So helping those people out is certainly worthy of a car programme :thumbsup: even though Tim Shaw is an acquired taste (but I'm sure his heart is in the right place)
Certainly the best car programme made nowadays.

With that elise S1 episode, also think about that old mother, loosing her husband and daughter in the same year.

Completely agree. A great show. Genuine, nice, car people helping others.
 
I realise that I'm in that same situation now ie., of having to ask for help - I found it impossible to do even a simple task like changing to the winter wheels on the 335 - It seems only yesterday I was lifting engines and rebuilding them, Brakes and suspensions etc - Now I struggle to bend to blow the tyres up. :rofl:
My garage is filled with tools of all sorts but I can't bring myself to get rid - Just in case miracles do happen. :rofl:

I vividly remember the Delta episode - the guy was pretty young as well which is such a shame.

I'm sure I saw a trailer on TV last week indicating series 10 is due to start sometime in March, later in the month I think.

Yes,had seen something about it.
It is due around March.
As is WD etc. On FB WD has been saying that they were filming for episodes if both now,and in January..

That would be interesting,new Series of Car SOS with Ed China in it.

I can relate to this. Having to ask for help rather than giving it is so hard to come to terms with. I even find myself still buying things I might not use. Mad really. :oops:

I can relate to this. Having to ask for help rather than giving it is so hard to come to terms with. I even find myself still buying things I might not use. Mad really. :oops:

My downfall is the middle aisle of Lidl with all the boys toys that you might need some day or other.

I am now falling into that category.I now have a decent size garage to work in ,after years working on the drive in all weathers.

Nice job on the car as always. :thumbsup: But unusually the back story didn't move me. I'll catch it on repeat on Sunday and hopefully follow it better.
