Hi,
Not sure if this has been answered previously, but had a look through the topics and nothing really seems to show the same problems as this.
I normally drive to and from work fairly early and therefore I rarely get stuck in any traffic. On friday i was stuck in 2 hours worth of traffic and as i was in first gear edging forward in first gear my car started to shake violently as if it was going to stall. This seems to reduce if I increase the revs much higher and depress the clutch a bit more, but it is a big concern. When there is no traffic, or when starting from cold the car seems to be fine for a while.
I was in traffic again on Saturday and this problem got worse, so i started eging forward in 2nd gear, which seemed to reduce the problem, but the shakes were still there.
The problem only seems to occur if I have been driving the car for over 15 minutes and i get into any traffic. If there is no traffic, the car is fine moving from 1st to 6th gear, so might be a problem when the engine gets up to temperature for a while??
I'm a very concerned as I bought the car three months ago and I bought an extended warranty. The warranty covers failure of clutch plate, clutch cover & thrust bearing including oil contamination, but excludes burnt or worn out clutch.
Has any one heard of this problem and know what this issue is? Also, if anyone had this oproblem fixed before, how much am i realistically looking at?
Thanks
