Car serviced and fixed - Well Happy

I brought my Z4 a few weeks ago and the car needed a little bit of TLC. The roof didn't work, rear brakes and front pads were on previous owners MOT advisory from weeks prior so they needed doing (others were due soon too) and washer fluid wouldn't hold water. Also a inspection service due.

I thought I would just do it all as I would know where I am with it all then. I got an inspection 2 done (all filters replaced) with brake fluid change, coolant checked, decided to have front and back disks replaced, pads on both front and back and handbrake shoes, he spotted the anti-roll bar on one side needed doing so did that. Oh and of course the roof motor. He thought would be rude not to take a photo of old one for me. As you can see it looks like it was definitely broken lol

My car drives like a dream now. Person I got to do my car specialises in bmw's. So got all the work done with a price that was sooo much cheaper going direct to bmw.
http://www.bmwworx.co.uk/ That's who I used located in Birmingham.
He was ever such a sweety as gave my engine bay a steam clean too and the inside a vacuum. I wasn't expecting that but think it was a little bonus

thats one sad looking motor. i know my drains are clear but when i was washing the roof the other day, a large amount of water was sitting in the channels for minutes and im sure some of it made its way onto my motor  im going to hate it when the heavy summer showers hit

Its horrible knowing about the motor common faults. My car had previously had a new motor at some stage he said.
I am glad I went for a new one from BMW though as means its got the 2 year part guarantee so hopefully it will go in about 20mths time just before warranty is up on the part so they have to fix it lol.
My car has the added worry as I don't have a garage it will be open to all the elements so my pool little drains better do there jobs lol.

Great to hear. I'm looking for a reliable but cheaper-than-dealer mechanic to look after mine. This isn't far from me - have saved the details.

Good to know a trusted BMW indie that is local

Out of interest what was the price for the new motor and fitting? I guess he has done many before?

I was well glad when I got recommended to him as didnt want big bills. Prior to the Z4 I was always a Ford girl. My brother works at ford so made things easy for me. I haven't used my brother on the BMW though. Mainly due to wanting someone who knows there stuff inside out. I always had that on fords with my brother.

His hard to get hold of on the phone though so I emailing is probably better. I tried a few times then emailed and then was instant getting back to me. Think its due to the alot of time wasters on the phone.

His done loads prior as it's a very common fault so they get alot in at BMW. I think the cost for the roof motor including fitting was £560. I sorted a deal out for all my work to be done in one go so it varied abit.
