Car Salesman/Buying Rant

Sorry JJ...

Out looking for a replacement for the 206 and looking to spend a reasonable amount for the right car. Thoroughly sick of the whole process already.

From swmbo who is intent on contradicting me on just about everything to smug feckers trying to sell cars. Either I am just going to go out alone and buy something or I'm giving them a budget and washing my hands of the whole affair. I'm now sat in a Ford showroom waiting for them to return from a test drive as I couldn't face going with them.

Whose got the number of a good divorce lawyer?...

i hope youre getting a fiesta ecoboost?

Sounds like a good time to go home - a sales person loves a good conflict as people make emotional rather than objective decisions... But this you know

She did look great in that Fiesta yesterday though :D

Who's the car for Stuart?

Kids and swmbo. I'm not concerned about choice of car etc, the bickering is over stupid stuff that I can't be bothered to talk about. Now sat in a Peugeot dealer showroom. He's been a refreshing change. Ford struck out as neither of them liked the fiesta.

The Ford salesman is as close as I've been in a long time to punching someone in the mouth in their place of work.

Wow, you really ARE pi$$ed off !

Are they are going over PDC and nav, or much more irritating details ?

Never give up, because if they end up buying a dog of a car you'll be the one having to sort it.

I suggested an older RAV4 to someone else recently as the one I had in the 90's was bullet proof. Similar situation of ex ranting about one thing or another so just went out & purchased it... & the first time she drove it couldn't believe how easy it was to drive.

Go give one a try

We have a Corsa as a loaner and its been surprisingly good. The Ford guy didn't try and sell his car, he spent ages slagging off everything else. When swmbo said she didn't like it during the test drive there was no attempt to work out why, just" turn around and go back to the showroom".

I am also running the "don't judge a book by the cover" test as I am in jeans, t shirt and trainers. Interesting how different dealers treat you.

Worst kind of sales person in any line of work, extremely unprofessional as well as lazy

Hope things get better... Been to look at any Minis yet ? Wonder how BMW would fare

Going through the same Stuart, so feel for you. Don't like any of wife & son's choices, or the basis they are making them on ... Finding keeping shctum very difficult. Just happy we've all got a day off from it today :)

don't suppose he was doing the classic sleazer's trick of trying to amuse your ladies at the expense of yourself?

happened to me once when buying running shoes, I could've clocked him. had the last laugh, 2 pairs of trainers @ £179.98, and I got them for £17.99 as he keyed the wrong amount into his card machine, ordinarily I'd have said something, but I kept quiet, whilst he continued to schmooze my missus and walked out with a smile.
