Car park dings/scratches

Exactly this. I parked far away in an empty car park a while ago and I came back to see someone cosy'ing up drivers-door-to-drivers-door. After the fat bint squeezed herself out of the door sandwich I politely asked her why? She said she always looked for another car to help her line up!

Easy solution ... just go shopping in the evenings when all the kiddies should be in bed so parent and child spaces are abundant

Been in a few Sainsburys car parks that have been repainted to have two lines with about a 12" gap between them separating each bay.
Harlow is one I think and Exeter maybe another.

Our sainsbury has done this, but the bays are no wider than before.

I'm just doing the mandatory driver awareness self paced video training from my company. It has a section about parking and how to in a supermarket. The advice given is to go and park near a really nice looking car because that way they are less likely to ding you. There is no hope.

Doesn't really work in my experience - I tried that a few weeks ago in Bracknell. Parked next to a stunning Z4MC in Interlagos Blue (may have been flimper I think) but when I came back to the car the Z4MC had gone and there was a Transit minibus next to me.

Mind you I got lucky that time, as no ding that I could see!

I don't normally take my Z4 to such places - that is what the E46 daily is for. It certainly seems to suggest BMW paint is pretty strong - it's been "rubbed" at least 3 times and each time it has been the other car that has lost paint! Serves the f*ckwits right! :evil:
