Car meet : Gauging interest

Hi Everyone,

I am currently considering an opportunity to host a car meet / festival.

The main focal point will revolve around the E85/86 BMW Z4. Other BMW marques will be welcome in the show ground. Any other brands will be asked to park in the neighbouring field.
We will have use of a fully tarmacked show pitch, able to hold roughly 50cars, and an overflow grass show pitch which can be used for a further 40cars.

I will not yet disclose the exact location. However the show site has 360degree views of the picturesque Rutland Water.
Log cabins will be available to rent for those wishing to stay for the entire weekend, camping is also allowed.
The venue has an array of facilities for women and children, including Tennis courts, crazy golf and an indoor swimming pool.
There is a restaurant and bar permanently onsite. Depending on feedback I can also arrange for outside catering (burger vans etc).
BBQs may be permitted, TBC.

Our guest speaker is a head technician for BMW Germany. He has agreed to give his signature lecture on "Great M cars from the past, present and future". This will included a section dedicated to the S54 engine and his personal view on it as the finest engineering BMW have achieved and the peak of N/A I.C engines within BMW and the M division.

Tickets will be on sale in advance and on entrance at a proposed £9 per head.
Show vehicles will be charged at a proposed £175 (this will go mainly towards paying for the guest speeches and the venue ). Advance booking only. I will look to sort out a number of categories upon which prizes can be awarded (i.e best E86 in class. Concourse car of the show etc etc).
Prices for log cabins and tent pitches will be discussed nearer the date.

Due to time of year (weather) i was looking at early summer 2018 for a fixture date.

Let me know your thoughts guys.
Open to suggestions.

Thanks Angus

Hi flimper. Thanks for the feedback, what does it usually cost for a show car? I just did some quick maths on costs.
The likes of goodwood and quail beach cost a fair bit I'm sure.

Markalp, thanks for the ideas, I especially like the German theamed beer house! I'll look at costs 😃

Have put my Zed into several shows over the years. Plus arranged our local PH stand for a few. £175 would buy an entire club stand, for several vehicles at all those where it has not been free to enter, for the show cars. :?

Great idea, but much too steep for me at those rates.

I would attend, but not to show a car just to meet other members to see other cars and gain advise or maybe buy and sell Z4 parts, sounds very interesting

i Like the idea, maybe some trade stands, detailing products, that sort of thing. let it develop and it could be good
