Had my renewal just a small increase ........was £340 new quote £533 :headbang: 2000 miles a year ,garaged , 13 years no claims......so i had a look around and it seems that we are all going to be paying alot more in 2011

It was mentioned earlier in the year that insurance companies were looking at a 20-40% rise in premiums to cover the amount of claims they'd had due to the combination of increasing 3rd party payouts and winter payouts.

Mine went up from £800 to £1200, and that was after a week spent searching for better prices - but part of that is due to having an outstanding claim due to the c##n of a t##t, b###tard, f##cking lorry driver who hit me claiming it was the other way around (court date to be set in the new year) :headbang:

My renewal is due end of Jan... and its up from £750 to over 1K... I've had a few companies tell me it will go down when i am over 30.... but when i was younger i was told 25... so no doubt by the time i reach 30 it will have increased to 35 :headbang:

If it's a second car like mine try Classic Line they came in with a good price although you have to pay it in one hit.

Just renewed mine.
It's gone down from £480 to £360.
Being older does have some advantages!!

28, SS8 postcode, 6 years NCB managed to barter mine down to less than last years (little under £600).

Mines due this month with Chris Knott been with them 2 years went up a little last year so dreading this years quote even though i have never made a claim looks like phoning around time :x :( thanks to all the fucking scum with no insurance

But if that was the case, all our insurances would go up. Mine went down for all my cars.

Well fingers crossed PVR as i live in the South East never no i may get a nice suprise.

Re the uninsured drivers is thats one of the reasons they always give you when you complain its gone up they say its to cover the cost of peoples claims who were hit by uninsured drivers

I was pleasantly suprised at my insurance, just renewed today actually. Had an original quote of £1400 off admiral in early december, I turned 23 a few days so I got a fresh quote and it had dropped to £1100, we then phoned up and added it to our family multicar policy and got even more money off, ended up paying about £930 in the end, not bad for a 23 year old on a 2.5 sport I didn't think.

I'd never just alow my insurance to renew without getting some new quotes first, every time I've had a renewal notice it's always gone up! Despite me never claiming and having an additional years no claims! My renewal notice came in from bell earlier in the month and it was £2200!

Just reinsured my 2003 3.0 after having it on the drive for the last 4 months ...
24, 5 yrs NCB, 1 fault accident 2 years ago, 3 other named drivers, protected NCB. 15k miles, £1100.

Currently got a 2007 VW Caddy van & the 2003 Z4 ... Begining of February I get a VW Golf Bluemotion as a company car to add to the mix ...

I think I need to sell something, 3 cars for 1 person is a little much, however the Z is just great fun so it'll have to be the van!

Mine doesnt run out for another 5 months - but i just ran a quote on the swiftcover website (currently with them) and it comes out £20 less then what i currently pay £713

I hope it stays like this for another 5 months

My renewal from RAC has just come through at £337 with 7 yrs protected NCB, (3rd car, safe occupation, 48 yr old no claims or points, located in Somerset) but I'm sure I should be able to get that down.

Just switched to Admiral for £255 protected NCB and free legal cover :)
For some reason Admiral were cheaper via Confused.Com than any other comparison site or even direct?

I've found this with some cars. I think it's the way the comparison site provides data to the insurer - they 'tweak' the data slightly. Like how a job can have two different titles, one cheaper to insure than the other. In my case I found gocompare.com provided the cheapest quote, even with the same insurers. However, when looking at an Abarth, it was over £700 cheaper to go direct with Admiral rather than a comparison site!
