Car insurance - Again!

Due next week for Z4 roadster 28i M. Had whittled it down to LV. On going to purchase I fortunately read the small print which told me I needed a tracker which made the whole deal non viable. I have 1 I took out of the Porsche last year when I changed but the re-registration is too costly and I may as well go elsewhere.
My pal has a 3 series 4 seater soft top and is not required to have a tracker with LV. As the LV lady put it "It just pops up depending on the model!"

Got a quote of £355 from SAGA for wrinklies and some cheapo quotes from Esure but they seem to have a bad reputation for a whole bunch of stuff so may be a false economy.

Have tried the Meercat and Confused and there are some possibilities there. Any recommends that wouldn't appear there? Aged wrinkly, full NCB, no previous and reasonable if not brilliant FY postcode. Need Euro cover as well.

Thanks.

Esure were the best for me. I've never had any consistency in good reviews from any company so just went with the cheapest cover as my postcode screws me.

Mines due in April but haven't had my renewal yet.
I'm 55 in June and I have been with Elephant for the last 2 years, but we'll see what quote they come up with.

More people take to the tinternet to complain about bad service but hardly anyone posts good reviews on insurance companies. If these companies were so bad they wouldn't be in business. I've known a couple of folks to be with esure and had non fault accidents, both were sorted promptly without any aggravation.

You are quite right Angie4M in what you say about complaints. If you look at the so called independent reviews on money.com every single insurance company you ever heard of has quite horrendous reviews with very few good ones.

It's therefore useful to know of positive comments. Since all I ever do is pay out money I have no experience of what is a good company or bad, just pricey or not.

My real need is fully comp Euro cover and few do that for a reasonable amount or a decent period of time. I am currently with SAGA who do full year Euro cover as standard which is excellent but are £75 dearer than Esure so I suppose it may well be the best option to stick with them. Esure do 4 days Euro with a maximum of 14 in the year which isn't much use for touring. You can extend it but at a hefty additional premium.

Anyone any experience of dealings with SAGA?

Thanks.

that low? i thought mine was 90 days in a policy year. tbh i dont drive over there anyway so European cover is usually low on my list of priorities.
