Car history before ///M?

K reg Ford Granada 2.0 Ghia (ditto, not the uber cool bit!)
M reg Rover 600ti (mad mad machine - bounced off 150mph on the speedo)

finally saved up enough dosh

H reg Citroen AX GT (sold after 12 months for a profit!!)
H reg Rover Metro 1.4 GTi - a real hoot, but rust bucket

A 100% coopay owner then :P

Passed test at 17 in 1993 but didn't buy a car until the following year:

1988 Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6 LX
1990 Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0i CD
1996 Fiat Bravo HLX
2003 Civic Type-R (company car)

Got fed up with work in late 2004, gave the Civic back, and went travelling for 7 months then:

1990 MX-5 Mk1
2002 MX-5 Mk2.5
1997 BMW 323i Touring
2005 Z4 2.0i SE (not strictly mine but I did 4k miles in it)
2001 330i Sport
1991 944 S2 (track/weekend car alongside the 330i)
2006 Z4MC

Never noticed until writing this, but until I went travelling everything was FWD, and since returning everything has been RWD. Obviously I found myself :driving:

Okay, getting a bit older than some on here, but here goes with the first lot:

Ford Escort 1100L
4 x 2.0 Capri`s (3 x S`s and 1 x Ghia)
3 x Ford Fiesta XR2`s, Mk`s 1,2 and 3
Vauxhall Nova SR

Then a break for "sensible" cars, whilst the kids were little, etc, then the second lot:

BMW Z3
Ford Mondeo ST220
Honda Civic Type R (EP 3)
Subaru Impreza WRX PPP
Subaru Impreza STi PPP
VW Golf GTI Mk5

BMW M3 (e46)
Maserati 3200
Honda S2000 + Vectra VXR estate
Z4m coupe + Grand Cherokee

Other runarounds.....escort,405,t5,omega etc

Quite some money wasted on a few of those......

Didn't get my first car until I was 21,

Aug 2000 Austin Metro 1.3
Jan 2001 Citroen Saxo VTR
Dec 2003 BMW Z3 M Coupe (yes, 5 years - it took a while to save up for the next one...)
Mar 2009 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta (wonderful, but not really an everyday proposition...)
Aug 2010 BMW Z4 M Coupe

Not owned many cars and didn't buy my first car that early, until I sacked my chaffeur :P
1989 BMW 318i
1991 BMW 320i SE
1987 BMW E30 M3 (first gen M3, yeah!!! did 90k miles I think in that car, fabulous)
2002 BMW E46 320 TD SE Compact (bought for the hatchback although found the E46 COupe a nicer car)
1988 BMW E30 M3 Evo 2 (another 1st gen M3, this time a rare Evo and one of 500 only made)
2006 BMW Z4 3.0Si Coupe (after selling both M3's wanted something modern but fun and sporty and just one car).
2006 BMW Z4 M Coupe (after enjoying the Si Coupe, wanted something even more fun)

Think that's the lot. Some of the cars above were owned at the same time so includes overlap.

Can anyone spot the link :). Tried other cars than BMW's but after test driving a BMW during the decision making process they just always just feel so right to me. WAs a bit of as BMW admirer as a kid also after visiting showrooms and being allowed to sit in the cars - brum brum :driving:

Hope to keep the Z4 M but possibly having a bit of a lifestyle change in the next year or so might opt for something sensible for a while (thinking X1), not for the family as I dont have kids, but for me and my outdoor interests and for travelling including round Europe. WOuld like to keep the M also, will see.

Pug 309 1.6GL
Vauxhall Astra 1.8
Pug 309 GTi
Lotus Elise S1
Porsche 944S
Ford Mondeo 2.0
Porsche 968 Sport
Lotus Elise S1 111s
BMW 118d
Lotus Exige S

Hopefully M is next in line.

Lotus esprit V8 TT

What was this one like?
Really good.
Had that proper super car feeling to it.
Easier to drive than you'd think, compared to say a TVR.

I got offered £2k more than I paid so let it go....possibly a mistake cos it would still be worth good money now.

what is interesting is how many went from 3 series to Z4. I found my 3 series coupe a bit boring in the driving dept, so opted for the z4. I'm guessing others found the same?
