Car having some Warranty work done today

When it pi55ed down yesterday I had some water come through my tweeter by the door mirror, I took it to Sytner in Cardiff and they have booked it in for the seals to be replaced today. Luckily the car is still in it's first 3 year warranty phase (only just though!) and this will be covered.

2 things -

1, Once my 3 years warranty expires I have another year extended warranty already paid for - I was suprised to hear yesterday that the extended warranty doesn't cover leaks, Does anyone know what else is not covered?

2, Am I eligable for a courtesy car?

Thanks,

Soj

Just called about a courtesy car - I am eligable but they haven't got one available until June 9th!

They can arrange a rental at the cost of £25/day though...

Edit - Problem Solved, booked it in next tuesday - arranged a lift home to pick up the other car (I live 40miles from the dealer so they wouldn't take me home - too far)

£25 a day isn't that bad considering you'd have been paying £10-20 for the privilege of having a 'courtesy' car - which is strange considering we've always been told that the exhorbitant rates that BMW dealer charge are to cover things like courtesy cars (which are not free), valets (which I refuse), training (need to spend some more there then), and quality control (no comment).

Mine's going in tomorrow to get the wipers fixed, but they wouldn't provide me with another car in the meantime as mine is 'still drivable' - although it wouldn't pass an MOT without working wipers :headbang: and it's been raining on & off since the wipers failed.

Mine will be getting an aftermarket warranty when the new car warranty expires as there's no way I'm planning on paying BMW for anything that I don't have to.

I didn't know I'd have to pay for a courtesy car! When I used to take my Porker in to Dick Lovetts Porsche Cardiff for any work they'd always give me a courtesy car for free (normally a BMW 5 series)

Can't believe they think it's safe to drive your car without wipers

Paying for a courtesy car is not very courteous!!!

On the valet note, what will they do - they can hoover the car for me but I don't want them to touch the paintwork :poke:

BMW Warranty and coutesy car are not relevant. My local dealer does not charge for courtesy car if you bought the car from them.

My mates have had to pay the £10 etc for cars recently and usually got MINI's, however one mate utterly told them NO MINI!! the last 2 times and he got a 3 series coupe and then a 320D. That is bad though having to pay and also getting such a rubbish replacement.

My Z4M is in BMW at the moment and I have had the courtesy mini cooper for a week.

Last month I had a 1 series for a week also.

All free of charge!

The £10 or so you usualy pay is normally for the insurance, ring up your own insurance company and ask to change the policy for a day and the courtesy car should be "free"
Thats if you can get one...
I had a mini clubman last time  , next time I'll specificaly ask for anything other than a mini.
