car decided it wants to be a 4 banger

no sooner did I fix almost every problem on the car did someone stab my tires. no sooner did I replace the tires did I suddenly experience my car trying to kill me with terrible handling. no sooner have I fixed that do I now have a new, interesting, problem. my car has made itself a 4 banger. been an interesting month

I laugh at how comical all these problems are becoming but in all seriousness this is getting expensive and I'm about to start looking for a mogwai that perhaps got wet last time I drove the car in the rain. anyways, here's a short version of what's happened.
-neighborhood kids wanted me to rev the car for them. knowing what got me into cars and how rewarding it's been for me, I decided I'd give them a burnout too. first time in a long time I've lit the tires up like that
-didn't make it out of the gate before it started running extremely rough
-dtcs that essentially came out to "first cylinder one misfired with a lean situation so I cut off fuel so you don't burn through the piston, and then cylinder 2 did the same so I cut it off too... btw are you aware your check engine light is on?"

so my car is having serious issues. on the one hand I'm posting just to share because I find it somewhat humorous that my bmw has seen fit to follow the new BMW trend of smaller engines all on its own. on the other hand I really don't know where to start and in light of how much work I've done on the car recently I don't feel like ripping the whole thing apart again if someone here has valuable insight.

I don't really suspect the fuel pump because I'd assume there'd be a dtc for low fuel pressure rather than lean stochiometrics.
I already replaced the plugs hoping it was one of those seemingly serious problems with a simple fix, no such luck.
doesn't follow coil packs nor would i think it would based on cylinders right next to each other simultaneously going out.
I would assume if it were some sort of intake or hose problem I'd have heard some hissing in the engine bay.
I guess fuel injectors could be the problem?

really not sure. if I still had an extra 1k I'd just go ahead and do all the coil packs, fuel pump and filters, injectors and be done with any possible gremlins I might get after fixing the problem

What's the mileage? I had a failed coilpack recently and have learnt the hard way not to make assumptions.
