Car dead at junction

Hi I have a 2012 30i e89 z4 auto. driving it today everything was fine, well except when we got back in the car after a walk and refill oil warning came on, so I took it out of sports mode and was just taking it easy til I got home as its due an oil change tomorrow anyway. After a while the oil level decided it was ok, but at the lower end of the scale (maybe it was on a hill when it told me to refill with 1 litre), anyway all was seemed ok til I pulled up at a junction, went to pull away but nothing happened, (I hadn't touched the gears just left it in drive). The car didn't even try and rev, nothing (it was still running), I tried selecting N, R, then D all with nothing happening. next I turned the car off and restarted it straight away and back to life it came and set off fine, no more issues on the drive home. Does anyone know what might be wrong with it or what I should check (I do have the cable for the car and the Bmw software but havent looked in to how to use it yet). My wife says it happened to her once at a junction too. so its happened twice in the last 18000 miles, its now at about 92000 miles (she seems to think the oil warning light had been on when she had it go dead too). If anyone has any ideas id be very grateful. Cheers Daniel

well I didnt work out how to use the Bmw software for my computer (that's another days job), but I do still have Carly and here are the results:

Central Control Unit
Fault code: 00E2C7 Bus communication error CAN / Error CAN logical errors

The errors in green I think I know what they are, oil level which I know is low, the day light running build went a while ago, and the roof had a hydraulic leak so guess the pump ran faster then.

the ones in red I'm not so sure about, but the inlet vanos thing could have happened at around a similar time, but the other 2 mileages it shows in the photo the car didnt become unresponsive so I don't know if that's why the car would have just not done anything. sounds like it might be worth replacing them though as it looks an easy job

Changed the vanos solenoids and cleared all the errors. No new errors are coming up now. Hopefully that’s all that was wrong. But like I say it’s happened twice in quite a long time so it really could be anything.
