Car cranks but wont start

I have a 03' 2.5l.

I started it last week to get it out of the garage for a run and discovered it had a snapped front spring, drove it back into the garage, shut down and left it until I went to replace the spring today. Tried to start the car and it turned over for about 2 seconds and then died, when trying to restart it, it turns over but will not start.

Any ideas as it was fine last week and hasn't gone anywhere which seems a bit odd.

Thanks

Try the other key first in case the immobiliser is not making contact?

How old is the battery of the car? Does it really turn normally or is it laboured?

:(

Sounds like the problem I had with my e90: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=1198744&mid=53145.

If the battery is healthy then it could be the above. Of course, could be something else but just thought I'd chuck that out there :)

So being a tight arsed Scot, you did not buy a new battery when the old one was getting low but thoroughly buggered the car instead

Sorry - could not resist :poke:

Has it got plenty of fuel in it. I know your not my daughter but there could be someone else that daft out there.

A guy in work had very similar symtons when his focus would not start, turned out to be a crank sensor fault.
