Can anyone recommend a decent car cover, I'm needing one for my car because our white cat keeps sleeping on the roof of my car and covering it in fur :x

Will be trying it later after cleaning Red (weather permitting) but it ticks all the boxes for me: breathable, waterproof, soft lining and, importantly, very low-key. Although the outer material does feel soft, so your cat may want to sit on it more? I'm due a visit to Longleat soon, wonder if you can buy "scent of lion" in the gift shop?

as for scratching - no trouble at all. But - i only put it on a freshly cleaned car, which seams obvious really. Inside of the multi layer cover, its soft. Mines offered good protection from both birds and some of the recent intense sun and other general detritus that seems to drop out the sky. Without it - doesn't take long for bits of tree sap to arrive giving the car that slightly rough feel.
good price too, doddle to put on - just roll it from front to back to get off. reverse to put off.

I've had 3 half covers - One BuzzTops (group buy) that caused wear and scratches, one Custom Covers - excellently made but even worse damage than the BuzzTops. Have now reverted to a light plastic grey half cover from RoadsterSolutions that at least I can buff out the wear on paint where it occurs.
If you've got a black Zed I wouldn't go to a cover - Chezsherman bought a Custom Cover half cover and it made a right mess of his paint - he's in email contact with company as I type.

It could be a pain in the neck if you have to wash it everytime before putting the cover on

Well, to be fair - i've only had it on and off half a dozen times so perhaps too soon to judge and mine is fairly forgiving in gray. Black I imagine is a nightmare !
I'm very careful when taking cover off - I fold it back on itself so the inside never touches the outside - if you know what i mean. that and the clean car - I can't see how it can scratch really. The lining on this is soft.
Your right that its a pain to clean before pyjamas time - but if you get lazy in the routine, I think you will soon get grit/dirt sandwiched in there and it wont matter what cover you buy it's going to act like sand paper when it gets blowy. Clean car, clean cover. Perhaps if you put it on a less than clean car make sure its tied down pretty firm (straps underneath) so its doesn't blow much in the wind.
I'm saving up to have a garage built - that's the best cover to get I think

The BMW "half cover" will protect your roof without covering your bodywork so won't scratch it if dirty.
I used one for a while when I was parking my car under trees which released a lot of sap and had birds nesting in them that could poop like cows.
It hooks over the wing mirrors and under the wipers at the front and has magnetic pads in the rear that stick into the top shutline of the boot (you open the boot, fit the cover, then close the boot)

My car also stays outside and roommate has an outdoor cat.
What are your opinions about these half covers?
