I can't remember if it was on here someone was asking/talking about these but thought I'd post this in case it was. Dealcloud have an in-car video on offer at the moment

I was asked last time I renewed my insurance whether I'd be interested in having one of these as it could reduce my premiums. No fear - figured it'd only cause an increase. Not a bad idea though for younger drivers to reduce their premiums.

I quite like the idea of having one of these... a good few years back a guy rolled back into me at a junction, then said I'd driven into the back of him. Something like this would have come in very handy then :x

I don't recommend that particular device as I own one myself. It can be bought cheaply via ebay (Hongkong etc.), it's a cheap generic Chinese affair. Not quite reliable - sometimes fails to record, sometimes switches off, the battery is extremely weak. It spends 99% of its time in my cupboard.

If a young driver wanted to reduce their insurance premium, I would say this is a good idea.

Not sure about the cost savings though - anyone reduced their premium with one these?

I think it was the road hawk we were looking at. You can get non video data loggers that monitor speed, acceleration and braking too. I'd get one for daughters 206 but it's acceleration is glacial!
