Hi My car alarm goes off now and again and its really bugging me now. I have heard about the bonnet sensor but on the e89 2013 reg I can't see it anywhere. It can be fine for hours then suddenly it goes off again.
 
I put a car jack behind the drivers seat and the alarm would go off a few minutes after i locked the car. It uses the horn, which is not very loud. I removed the jack and all fine.
 
Now once locked the light under the mirror isn’t flashing at all. Did that at work earlier then after 5 hours the alarm went off and I unlock it and lock it the lights flash and I get the steady red light flashing again, all very odd
 
There was a problem with a over sensitive sensor in earlier cars (can't remember years of cars involved) that set the alarm off during heavy rain showers BMW came up with a fix,you could check if this has been done :?
Also a bad battery can cause many electrical problems
