Thankfully they don't seem to make them for the Z4
However, if you want to do something with the brakes why not keep an eye out for larger calipers on eBay, bag a cheap set, paint them and then install next time you need new disks and pads (if you want to minimise the costs).
There is a really good post about calliper upgrades on here, I'll see if I can dig it out - it will tell you which 3 series callipers are the same size... or you can do the upgrade!

Not sure if I got a good deal, but £160 for a set of E46 330 front callipers and £40 for the E46 320D rears (to retain correct bias), both with carriers... yet to arrive. Will paint in the next few weeks and then consider disks and pads. Upgrade at my leisure
Just need to look into the protection plate and drum.

Great thread... bookmarked the first time I saw it. Apparently, in the UK at least, breakers (junkyards) have cottoned onto this and the price for 330 callipers has gone up a little. Still, a good priced upgrade.
It's going to be interesting on the 2.5! cj10jeeper did this on his 3.0 and said there was a BIG difference first time he tried the brakes... we're coming from an even smaller setup

I did this upgrade and there is no need to touch the rears as the oem set up of 3.01 prefacelift rear is the same as the postfacelift 3.0Si, so brake bias remains the same, but the feeling of 'hand of god' on the bonnet when braking is there. From a 2.5 I guess you'd best move to the 3.01i set up rear, but that shoudl be easy as they are common.

I've bought the rears from a 320D (for bias) - lots to choose from, £19.00 each! Checked RealOEM, thankfully the drum remains the same. Hopefully all 4 will arrive soon and I can set to picking a colour!
CJ, when you did the 330 upgrade, did you do anything with the protection plates? That was the one bit that seemed a little uncertain in the How To. They aren't overly expensive so I may get them anyway, assuming they're not mandatory!
If anyone has done the rear upgrade on a 2.5 (or lower) and there is anything else to consider please speak up! From searches on here and checking parts on RealOEM I think I should be okay.

Actually I never touched the dirt shields as having test fitted the larger fronts they were more than adequate with no interference. To fit them iirc would have involved a lot more extensive dismantling of the hub to get them. I can't speak for the 2.5 as they are likely to be another size down from the 3 and create more issues.
If you do the rears I think you will have to either fit new ones or bend the edges flat. as again iirc they wrap partly arond the disk. If I cahnged these I'd buy new as they are flimsy pressed steel.

Thankfully BMW were being lazy again... same protection plates on the 2.5 as the 3.0. Agree on the rears - especially as they are only £12 each!
Looking forward to this mod, something immensely satisfying about decelerating quickly.
EDIT: czechT698 - sorry for hijacking this slightly, but I think it's the way forward. The 330 (325mm) disks fill the rims nicely too!
