Stuart Brown describes Norbert Rosing's striking images of a wild polar bear playing with sled dogs in the wilds of Canada's Hudson Bay.


The photographer was sure that he was going to see the end of his huskies when the polar bear materialized out of the blue, as it were:


Obviously it was a well-fed Bear...





The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dogs.
 
Wow - what a moment to be standing there with a camera in hand.

Certainly a situation for initial doubt about the outcome of the encounter.....
 
OH my GOD!!! :o That is beautiful!! I'd love to see video footage of that encounter. Two things I want to see when I retire: Whales in Alaska and Polar Bears. Beautiful.
 
Actually though i'm pretty sure the polar beer is just establishing rapport so that later when he's hungry he doesn't have to hunt for food.
