The hydraulic soft top motor is dead when travelling up it slowly succeeded to latch after that it has never move again just the window working and the locking system working
i have tried to open the top manually according to the manual it's simple procedure, i can't open the hydraulic pressure is present i thing the bypass valve is broken in the motor Can i removed the top if i can't open the roof???
please any help

thank you from Canada

Forum member fixit man had the same problem. The release plunger gets corroded and cannot be operated by the cable release. He somehow managed to access the plunger directly in situ and got it to release. I can't imagine how he managed this feat.

thank you for the reply

It seems to be very hard procedure i will try in last

Is it possible to remove the top when it's in close position???

I think it's possible to very slowly move the top manually by applying steady, constant pressure. You'd be essentially forcing fluid through the pump housing, there's probably some clearance between the housing and the vanes to allow this. Be careful to not distort the frame. I haven't tried this, I only bring it up because I recall another member doing this, being unaware of the bypass valve. YMMV.

It may not need to be open that much, not sure. All I know is there's one step where it can't be fully open. Hopefully someone else has better info for you.

sounds good i will try to put some pressure i hope it will clear enough to do the job

Thank you BCWORKZ

mine was the same, broke whilst down and was a pain to get back up due to the corrosion.

as bcworkz said, constant, EVEN, pressure (use 2 people) to open it about 1/2 way for removal and replacement of motor.
