Hi all, iv only converged about 70 miles so far but I can’t get over how good the MPS4s are.

Previously I have had the MPS2, continental contact sport 5, ultra vorti and rain sport 3 fitted and the difference I have already noticed is awesome.

I’ve just come from having the rain sport 3’s on and they still had 6mm plus when i changed so was not down to them being worn as to why I am noticing such a difference.

The performance is awesome! If you can I recommend having some fitted :)

Here she is after the new tyres, an alignment and new grills fitted.

Deffo adding wheel spacers tonight to the front lol

Thanks for the review, always good to get some real feedback as opposed to advertising spin. I've been looking at options to replace my run flats. Had shortlisted the PS4s alongside Continental Premiums and Eagle F1s. On paper they all look fairly similar except the F1s are poorly rated for fuel economy - not my first consideration

Finally someone else who gets it!

So many threads on here say they can't feel the difference and it's not worth spending more than mid-range money.

My experience is as yours and I highly rate them. I went from F1s to PS4 and can categorically say the PS4 is better. This is backed up by real world objective and subjective testing by various entities.

OP, curious as to how you found the Rain Sport 3s. Not a comparison against your new tyres, just those.

I'm currently running Vredstein Ultra Sessantas and will be replacing soon.

There's so many factors involved when commenting on tyres and their performance. Car set up, tyre pressures, driving style, ability and so on.

Most people IMO don't drive to a level where they can feel the extra grip and performance that a top tier tyre can bring, hence a mid range tyre fitting all their needs and appearing as all you would ever need. There's those that have to have the grippiest new tyre available, despite never ever getting anywhere near the tyres capabilities, those that really push on and also do the odd track day and really need the extra grip/performance.

To really understand a personal recommendation on a tyre you really need to know how that person drives.

what size wheels do you have? i thought that PS4S only come in 19+ sizes

Glad your enjoying them OP. They can only get better really as you bed them in properly and with spring approaching temperatures increasing (hopefully!)

I don't really subscribe to the argument that the likes of the PS4 are only worth it if you drive on the limit. Aspects such as handling, grip, wet grip, better turn in and feel etc all come into play in normal driving as well as hooning.

Your confusing the mps4 the OP has and wrote down with the mps4s available in 19+ sizes. One little s makes all the difference!😂

Probably help if Michelin gave them distinctly different names but I guess they're trying to market them as one big tyre family.

19" CSL reps

255/35/19 rears
225/40/19 fronts

Currently running the 255 rear due to the 9.5j et27 wheel to avoid rubbing.

Ok. Like I said above it's all in where you put that little s 🤣 makes all the difference, about £50 a tyre!

I've had rs3's on the M for 2 years now and think they are a fantastic year round tyre. Find them a lot better than the Mps2 they replaced.

Get the PS4s mate. Well worth the dollar.

See how long the PS4's last on the back of that C63 Steve...
I know... Initial signs are OK though as I don't drive it any harder than my Z4 80% of the time and I've got it setup with much less toe in than they normally have. I'm using up the Yokohama Advans first which are quite grippy in the dry but poor in the wet and only 240 treadwear rating. Then it will be PS4S in 245/265 rather than the stock 235/255.

Many people will be happy with a bit less tyre performance as most of the time you don't need it. However, that extra few metres of stopping distance or swerve in a corner unexpectedly I'd rather have more grip to call on. In normal driving the feedback and subjective feel of the tyre is also better with those like the PS4 or PS4S.

I haven't tried the PS4S yet but as it's just a better version of the PS4 I know I won't be disappointed. When I went from F1 AS2 to F1 AS3 that felt like a backwards step despite claims by Goodyear that it's better.

Well it's early days yet but I'm hoping for better. :?

How do yours look when finished, even wear or just the inner?

Even across the rears...

I run them at 40 psi, maybe different for the estate.I think if your steady and don't have a soft tyre on you can get 9-10k out of them, dont hear many beyond that.

There was a guy on the AMG forum that was fitting new rears every 1500 miles...Driving like a loon of course but tried every make out there as he was doing 3k a month..
