Cant get my wheel off

The part that has came off is just a press fit into the part stuck in the wheel.
The slip ring just covers the join in both these parts.
Line up the part that has came off with the part still in the wheel and hammer it in place until it feels secure.
Then try to turn the bolt out carefully.
Maybe undo the locking bolts on the other wheels first in case you break the locking wheel socket.

Thanks for the advice everyone i did try banging it all together earlier but looking at the vid i didnt do it quite right ,im not great with mechanics but looks quite simple & im good with a club hammer ,but
have limited tools for the job so gonna get a mate round to give me a hand .Its worth a go before i have to pay someone else to do it ,besides a lot of the so called experts werent interested .cheers

If i get anything stuck wheel wise i always pour several kettles of boiling water over the alloy to try and expand it.

Can't you just blow up the flat and go to thr bmw dealer and get a new lock nut key, they are not that dear.

The Key is ok ,its the bolt thats the problem ,& the tyre will not inflate ,ive tried .Cant see any obvious puncture & cant feel anything .

I would get a half inch drive socket and hammer it on the centre part, then get a long extension to undo the nut.You will only have one shot at it .so a steady turn.Good luck.

I had an issue with over tight wheel bolts a few moths ago and snapped the key trying to get them off. Not exactly the same I know. But the guy I took it to hit the end of the bolt With a smaller socket and hammer, To try and get some movement. kept hitting it , then trying with the socket eventually he worked it loose. Said it happens all the time with BMW’s, and that’s the only way to loosen them. Worth a try if you can get something on the end of the bolt to belt with the hammer without damaging it. Then if you can get the head of the bolt back on you may be able to work at it until you can loosen it.
As I say with a try.

Hi all hooray i can finaly drive my car ,cost me £80 to get nut off & £140 for a new tyre but its done .Thanks for advice but i couldnt trust myself to do it so got a pro in who apart from price id reccomend. cheers

Nice one, glad you got it sorted. I’d ditch the rest of the locking bolts and replace with standard. They’re more trouble than they’re worth.

After reading this I decided that I would ditch my locking wheel nuts... guess what? second locking wheel nut same thing happens as happened to you. Luckily I managed to tap the head of the bolt back on and got enough purchase to loosen it. Locking wheel nuts are now in the bin!

Yes I ditched mine years ago it’s one of the first things I do on a new car as they are a complete waste of time and would not stop anyone from pinching your wheels. This day and age if they go to inconvenience of nicking your wheels they may as well just take the car because it’s probably quicker.
