Can't get BMW assist to work

I've been onto BMW more times than I can remember about my Connected Drive account. They tell me it is active and should be working. This has been going on for 2 weeks now and still no joy. In exasperation, I've disconnected the battery to try a reset but still no joy.

Is there anything else I can try?

I'm sure someone will come along with an answer, but if your having no joy take it back to the dealer.

What exactly are you trying to get it to do, as the Z4 version only does a couple of things (compared to the version in some of the cars with proper iDrive systems).

When I switch to BMW Assit it says - not available. No matter where I am. I've had it before so know what it should do but it's as if it isn't getting connected.

I'm getting tired of taking my car back for minor irritations but I may end up having to. I was hoping someone had some magic way of reseting the system in the car.

When I bought mine it was also 'not avaiable' - but I had to go to the 'initialise' option to set it up.

However, after 3 months it's gone back to 'not available' and I used it so little that I've not bothered trying to get it fixed, and there's no way I'm paying £120 for the service either.

I've taken some photos of my process, but it looks slightly different than I remember.

I know this is an old post but I have exactly the same problem....

All I get when i click on 'BMW Assist' on the main menu page all I get is a message saying 'BMW Assist is not available' and all I can do is press 'back', there is no other option.

I have registered online with BMW assist and had all the confirmation emails/text messages saying my account is active but my car doesn't want to know!

Any ideas gratefully received.

Thanks

mmm five .................Have you actually set yourself up via the website? Did you get an email with password to get into assist on the web so you can set up preferences?

I actually phoned them up, as the car was supposedly sold with an active subscription - but that was almost 2 years ago and I can't remember much else about it other than trying it once or twice and finding it next to useless.

The Z4 version only really allows you to send addresses from Google Maps to the car and to call the BMW Assist helpline for directions to hotels, etc. Definitely not worth the monthly charge they wanted.
