Can’t decide on what suspension (decided it’s on, very happy)

From the Suplex catalog the M-Sports fronts are part no- 06248 and the rears are 06231, the SE spec parts are front- 06252 and rear- 06228.
Their M-Sports springs are 20mm shorter at the front and 3mm shorter at the rear, I don't know how this compares to genuine BMW springs.

Thank you for that
Much appreciated

Jim.

I love this forum, been feeling a bit like I was going to mess up what I was ordering, but this has really helped clear things up

If anyone has any links to recommended top mounts and other parts that you'd recommend changing that'd be awesome too

Hi
Just changing my top mounts and front drop links
To lemforder think they are OEM
Will probably buy some reinforcement plates for both just to be in the safe side

I would recommend not using Autodoc. Been waiting since 30th Dec for brake discs, they say they have ‘logistical issues’ and just to wait. Seems to be the case for many people even though other orders coming through. Have claimed a refund as the service is shocking.

I work in Procurement & Logistics for a large multi-national, and I can confirm that logistics are a nightmare at the moment, COVID took most systems to the brink, and Brexit documentation has taken it over the edge.

There's no rhyme or reason why one truck/delivery (with identical paperwork) gets through easily and another is turned away.

We have weekly calls with senior management, and it's become acceptable to say we don't know when something will arrive...which unfortunately has huge impacts throughout our supply chain.

For example:
  • some of of our suppliers are adding £50/order to cover the added cost of extra paperwork
  • we've been asked to pay to some to double-up on drivers for the route so they can continue to drive if one has no time left on the tacho
  • we've been asked to switch to airfreight
  • we've seen lead times extend from 2 months to as much as 6 months

Personally, I stopped ordering anything from non-UK retailers at the end of November. But I'm sure there'll be a need for something from BMW that will have to be back-ordered from the Fatherland at some point :P

Don't get me wrong, totally understandable. But when nothing has happened for a month, when the tracking info says it's on the way to the local distribution centre (not the border) for 5 weeks and they cannot tell you anything...I cannot wait indefintiely. I don't know if its lost, if its at the border, if its at the local centre, etc. So personally just want a refund . getting that refund is where the service has been awful. But I guess they are getting the same from hundreds of people!

Completely agree, and I'm not defending the quality of information out there (customer services or HMRC)...but our company has been planning for 2 years, feel we couldn't have been any more prepared (as the info was not available), and have to pay the penalty for the UK/EU 'handbags at dawn'.

The 20% import VAT thing and duties shows we are now like a tinpot economy. It's going to be a nightmare for a while :|

rays545i, sorry for the tangent :D

Well my discs and pads from AUTODOC turned up today
Ordered on the 4th

Now the long wait for all my suspension stuff

So if you are not in a hurry AUTODOC are fine and cheap there choice is second to none

My eibachs pro springs cost £131
Cheapest I could find elsewhere was £180 ish

Just bought springs and dampers, but got direct in the UK and fancy doing the job sooner rather than later whilst I'm not driving the car so much. Thanks for all the advice, I went for b4s and Eibach pros

Afternoon All,
