Cant believe the price drops

i'm still looking but i'm waiting for the right spec to turn up, but, in all honesty i'm looking for a sub 35k mile car, full history with all the toys. i don't want to piss on anyones chips but i wouldn't pay more than £14k for a private sale, depending on spec/mileage/history & most importantly condition i may even offer less.

And you want the moon on a stick in the glovebox as well presumably?

I think you're kidding yourself, given that a roadster with 34k miles and no nav has just sold in January for £13.5k.

I don't understand this mentality to be honest, you want "all the toys" and "low mileage" but you want to pay absolutely bottom of the market. Either you're prepared to wait agesfor that combination coupled with a desperate seller or prices will fall naturally over the next 6-9 months and you'll miss out on the driving fun in the interim.

Works for Mike Brewer..... :poke:

He finds it ok to insult sellers when making miserly offers for their cars, but soon takes offence when its the other way round. Typical car trader attitude

Still love watching Wheeler Dealers otherwise :D

This won't help the price drops: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16628233

But that's OK, since I'm buying.

Well be quick....further down its says:

However, the AA predicted that motor premium inflation would ease in the coming year.

The motoring organisation said that last year's ruling by the European Court of Justice, which outlawed differing insurance quotes for men and women from December 2012, would affect all new policies from that date, with young women likely to see the biggest premium increases.

I'm trying to be quick! But these MC's are not exactly common, mix into that a preferred spec and preferred colours - and I can see this taking some time.

In the meantime I still have an Alfa Spider to play with (or is that considered profanity on here?)

YekeYeke (Mory Kanté?), what spec and colours are you searching out? It took me around 1.5 months to find exactly what I was after, well worth the wait though :)

I used to have a V6 Alfa GTV (great car), seems a few on here had the Spider (916) before progressing to a Z4MR.

I keep thinking of selling mine. 11,600 miles, I had put a value of about £15k on it.
It's then that I just think that I may as well keep it if I'm not desperate for the money. I've owned it from new and it will eventually be a low mileage rarish car.
In 30 years, that is.

Kev.

Hi, well let me know if you do decide to sell it.

Yes, spot on, I just happened to be whistling that song when I created my account

Looking for an MC, but might consider a non-M 3.0si coupe if I don't find the right M (not keen on the non-hydraulic steering though - or the non-limited slip diff). Not interested in roadster, primarily because I don't like the shape (don't want to re-open any old wounds here  ) and secondly, because I'm keeping the Alfa Spider for top-down thrills.

Exterior colour preferences: Interlagos, Monaco, Midnight, Space Grey?, stratus grey, or any black (but pref Carbon) - will also consider Montego on a non-M

Interior : first choice would be a "Tobacco" type leather colour - not sure if sepang brown, caramel or amerone are close to this, but I think all are rare? failing that, champagne, red or black in that order. Two-tone is utterly out and a dealbreaker - I severely dislike all of them. Can anyone enlighten me as to any tobacco or dark-tan type interiors?

Options : (bear in mind I'm considering non-M, but only as a fallback)

Must Have's :-
10 speaker hifi thingy - although I confess that the various audio options confuse the hell out of me.
Xenons
Phone prep

Nice to Have's :-
Pianoblack
Heated Seats
Pro Nav
Folding Mirrors

I'd prefer a 2008, but will consider 2007, up to 40k miles, but the lower the better. Looking to spend up to 16k, but will stretch for something spectacular. Would prefer to spend 13-14k of course, but not at the expense of higher mileage.

Don't think I'm being too picky....

Yep, mine's a 916 3.0V6... If the Z4 sounds as good as the spider i'll be chuffed :D

It's not just Z4 price drops. I looked at an M3 V8 coupe last week. £63,500 list with options, 61 plate as a dealer demo car but only done 10 miles. Opening offer from BMW £49,000 and I'm sure they will move on that. If you want a new one there is a dealer contribution to deposit of nearly £8,000 automatically.
