I am very tempted... Its about time!
My friend recently got a nikon d1 (i think) mirrorless and on our trip to budapest his daytime shots were comparable to my canon 60D. And my nightime pics were only slightly better... But prob down to his only being 10mp.

last I'd read about the EOS M was that Canon had taken the 650D and stuffed all the electronics into the smallest body possible. by doing so, they had to lose virtually every button/dial so everything is now controlled by the touch screen on the back (which is supposed to be the dogs danglies). having an adapter ring that will allow it to take standard EF/EF-S lenses defeats the object somewhat IMO. the whole idea of having a compact mirror less camera is that you DON'T have to lug around your lenses.
as for that piccie Tom of the EF800mm lens - looks a bit photoshopped to me as that lens is not light and the way the fella in the picture is holding it like that looks a bit suspect.
I'll have a look at the EOS-M in October and probably throw my CC on the counter to get one - be rude not to and it will go nicely with the 5D MKIII

As I have a Nikon dslr. I sure hope this Canon lights a fire under Nikon's butt. Canon got this one spot on. You don't have to use the big glass. But it's nice to know that the APS-C sensor in the Canon can take advantage of the quality glass.
The Nikon 1 is a joke with the tiny barely bigger than a P&S sensor. The 2.7 crop factor sure throws a spanner in the works if you were to use the F mount lens adapter. Just about every F mount lens save a super wide or fisheye would be a telephoto lens. You can do better Nikon. :thumbsdown:
