Can you trust the dealers?

Nope dont trust dealers. Dad's Jag came back from the dealer with a fresh set of scratches all along the front wings. Pretty obviously it was from them leaning over and working on the engine but they denied it, we could prove it.

Independents all the way.

Funny enough the photo was not from my dealers, but another branch of the group. I've always doen well with mine (within reason) but today made me laugh.

An ordered part had arrived exactly on schedule, but I can't have it until Monday because today is stock take. Nothing beats a process that's more important that the customer :headbang:

I picked up my Z4 last Friday. The car was washed, but the interior was not cleaned properly. Even AUC preparation was not up to standard. As usual, I checked everything myself next day. The coolant level was below minimum. All 4 tyres had different pressure readings. :(

I heard that some owners now actually tell dealers not to wash their cars after services, because they are worried the paintwork can be scratched.

will go to my indy who is 240 miles away

Which indy would that be?

Sounds like a bit of a treck :D

Darjac Racing in Essex (between Braintree, Colchester and Sudbury).

The owner and his family have now become friends as well as trusted spanner monkey. He's also recommended by a lot of people on the M5Board - with people coming from all over the country tyo take advantage of his skills. It also helps that he's been through most of the problems on these cars himself as he owns a 1993 3.8 M5.

If I'm working down south, then I go down on Sunday night, leave the car with him and head to work for the week, picking the car up on the way home. If I'm not working down south then I just have to plan it slightly differently - sometimes it requires a hire car for the week, but even adding £100 for a Corsa for the week is still cheaper than going to a main dealer and having to supply your own KY to make the process less painful.

I have a standard sign for that one now. They also listen better now as I forced them to replace the roof on my previous Z after a car wash was done by them despite my instructions NOT to do it.

Yes I also tell dealer not to wash and leave A4 piece of paper on seat saying "Please do not Wash"
