I also have an USA model, same year as yours, 2011, without comfort package. I had to buy smarttop module to do that.

I went to my local BMW dealership and asked them to diagnose why my i can't open my top with the keyfob - they told me my car was never fitted with that option.
Guess they did it as a safety standard for US..?
 
I can but I don't know why, I have one touch from remote open/close. I assume the previous owner installed a SmartTop or something, but I've tried finding it and also fiddling with the settings based on the manual and nothing happens!
 
2010 base model. No remote top operation... smart top would be a nice add on though. I see prices vary from $200-400. Which model are you guys recommending?

I think it tells you that the old E85 is a good car :driving:

I think it tell you that you can’t compare apples with pears, both have their good & not so good bits :thumbsup:
