Can you identify this?

having washed the car I was drying bits under the bonnet and this came off the drivers side under the bonnet.
Can't find an identical one on the passenger side.


It looks like it clips onto the bonnet lip and cushions the bonnet closure. But why just the one?

Never attached a photo her before so not sure if you can see it.

Yes, it slides on to the weld flange and bumps on the 'catwalk' about half way down the bonnet edge:

I think you'll find it actually fits onto the edge of the bonnet like this..



there should be one either side.
