Can you identify this part?

Hi all,
Found this part underneath my engine in the tray,while doing a routine suspension check. it has fallen off somewhere but cant find out where.the car has recently developed a clunking and this may be the problem. z4 2003 3.0i

can you help??

no ive still got that one on there.

its much thicker and not as long as that one pictured JDM.

dont know what that is, but your carpet is quite nice. sort of a pile twist in oatmeal.

I think it's from the under-tray that protects the engine from stones / excessive moisture... Which I guess you had to take off to do the checks ? Just had to replace the tray under mine and it had one of these on the front of it. Should just clip/slide back on

I never removed anything,just found it rolling around on top of the tray! Which seemed very odd!

So I think it is therefore from the front of the tray (if that's where it was rolling around) - you should see a plastic ridge at the front for it to clip / slide onto - no ?

Item no. 6 - the tray may look a little different at the back (it does on my 2006 3.0Si), but the front should be the same
