Stu did you know there is a place that offers drives in an Ariel Atom on track not that far from you? Or at least I think it's not far (Great Tew, Oxfordshire, near Chipping Norton). More details at http://www.trackdays.co.uk. It's where I did my GT3 experience. The Atom was insane. Quickest car they had, followed by the GT3 (996) which was quicker than their Gallardo, 360 Modena, Aston Vantage, & R8. It was about £90 so quite reasonable.

Been there great day out i had a go in Gallardo. I only went to watch my father in law do his experience day. Turns out a guy i know is an instructor there. The Atom is bonkers had a passenger ride in with my mate Gorge driving. He has a lot more talent than i do!!

Sorry to keep droning on guys. but I think you biker chaps are in denile here. Take a look at the figures for the Ultima GTR.

Fastest 0–60 mph (97 km/h) time: 2.6 seconds
Fastest 0–100 mph (160 km/h) time: 5.3 seconds
Fastest 30 mph (48 km/h)–70 mph (110 km/h) time: 1.8 seconds
Fastest 100 mph (160 km/h)– 0 mph time: 3.6 seconds
Fastest 0–100 mph (160 km/h)– 0 mph time: 9.4 seconds
Fastest road car over the 1/4 mile: 9.9 seconds @ 143 mph (230 km/h)

So faster than the Bikes mentioned, thus far, in a drag race & then there is the little matter of :-

Best performance on a skidpad: 1.176g lateral grip in a 200 ft (60 m) circle.

Plus a lap time on the Top Gear track of 1:12.8 in road trim.

Keep trying though, there might be something faster out there. These figures are for a humble 720bhp Ultima, aparently they are still drivable with 1000 bhp. (Not sure with me at the helm) :wink:

The suzuki busa does 0-100mph in 4.9 seconds standard. There is a fair few turbod ones as well. I wpuld like to see the head to head though.

Are the cars figures claimed?

I'd guess they are measured, the Ulitma GTR has been around for several years now. I think they are for the standard car with 534 bhp. The one Guvnor found for sale has 680bhp. Here's a link to their homepage.

I didn't, thanks. Jonathan Palmer had them on their fleet too, but my account was so crap last year I refused to shell out for a day. New account as of now, so I feel an incentive coming on...
